Veloriginal Ltd is clothing company for cycling fans owned by a cycling crazy family, we are based in Coventry the birthplace of the modern bicycle. This local heritage is something that we are passionate about. It lead to our Company Director (Ian Court) being the driving force in the creation of the Starley Sportive. The event was established in 2018 recognising the contributions of James Starley and John Kemp Starley to our great sport. In 2019 the event was part of Coventry European City of Sport. We are committed to contributing back to our local community and any proceeds from the sportive goes to local charities.
Ian’s a very keen cyclist and commutes to work by bike every day, he also competes in local races and time trials. Every March he packs his panniers and heads off to Belgium to chase the pro’s round in the Belgium Classics; this year he even stripped off the panniers and took on the local Belgiums in a circuit race in Wevelgem at the finish of the Gent-Wevelgem. He is also the race organiser for the longest running cyclocross event in the country the Coventry Road Club boxing day cross.
